Apostolic Ministries

Revelation 1:20
"The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden
lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven
lampstands are the seven churches."
Our vision as a lampstand church is to converge the body of Christ so we can establish the
kingdom of God on earth. The leadership of Cathedral will join with other churches and
ministries to form a "Convergence Moment." To converge means: to come together, to obtain
uniformity and to have one interest, purpose or goal. This is the call of the church according to
1 Corinthians 12:12-17; to be one body with main parts. Just like the seven churches, we've
been summoned to keep our lampstand burning bright.
Cathedral's mission is to serve other churches and ministries in our sphere of influence; our
desire is to establish the apostolic in our region. We'll provide training and developmental
resources to leaders, churches and individuals in our area. Below are some ways we plan to
bring forth an apostolic culture in our region as a lampstand church as well as several prophetic
words spoken over our church to thrust us into an apostolic culture.

The Biblical basis for the New Testament believer's ministry of intercessory prayer is our calling
as priests unto God. The Word of God declares we are a holy priesthood (1 Peter 2:4,) a royal
priesthood (1 Peter 2:9) and a kingdom of priests (Revelation 1:5.)
Our model intercessor, Jesus Christ, is our model for intercessory prayer. Jesus stands between
God and sinful man, just as the Old Testament priests did: "For there is one God, and one
mediator (intercessor) between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5.) "It is Christ
who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes
intercession for us (Romans 8:34.) "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those
who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews
The purpose of our Intercessory Prayer Team is to pray and intercede on behalf of our pastors,
church body, ministries, our city, state and nations. As intercessors we are called to bring God's
will from heaven to earth. How do we bring God's will from heaven to earth? We'll hear from
God, and release what is on His heart through prayer and intercession.

Apostolic Connection
The primary function of the gift of the apostolic is to extend God's kingdom by initiating new
works to bring people to Christ and reach out to people no one else is willing to reach out to.
The apostolic must be able to see over the horizon, look at the spiritual landscape and see
where God is working. Apostolic leaders are necessary when starting new initiatives because
that is the vehicle which unleashes all the other gifts. Due to the Apostolic's is focus on
establishing new things, apostles are keenly aware of all gifting's and want to see all gifts and
ministries flourish in the Kingdom. Apostles are not only concerned with the extension of the
Kingdom but also the shepherding of souls.
Establishing relationships with church and ministry leaders throughout our region creates new
opportunities that allow the Kingdom to grow, reaching more of the lost, seeing more people
healed and it fulfills the call to unify the body of Christ.
The Apostolic Connection ministry will work together to develop a culture which will sustain
revival, made possible through growing relationships and strategic leadership meetings. New
and deepening relationships offer the leaders in our region a source of accountability,
partnership and relational support from experienced church planters and pastors, ultimately
strengthening each other and providing a place of unity and growth.

Fivefold Ministries Development
The Lord has called some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some teachers and
some pastors. Today, He is restoring a biblical understanding of what these roles and callings
mean, so His bride can come into the fullness of what He has for her: getting ready for her
Bridegroom's glorious return. The church has come a long way over the past few decades, even
though there are still a lot of misconceptions and rejection due to abuse prevalent in His body.
However, apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers and pastors must start taking their rightful
places, having been proven and tested, as humble servants to bring the body into maturity.
Developing the fivefold ministry in our area will allow us to truly come into full maturity and
have the ability to fulfill the commission our Master gave us, to make disciples of all nations,
doing the same works He did and even greater.

Prophetic Ministry
The prophetic ministry is a ministry that will encourage and build the faith of God's people into
another dimension. Encouragement, edification, comfort, and strength in the spirit will be
found in this ministry. 1 Corinthians 14:1 and 3: "Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, but
especially that you may prophesy .. . He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation
and comfort to men."

The word for prophecy comes from the Greek verb "prophemi". It has two parts. Pro =forth.
Phemi = to speak. The primary meaning of the word, therefore, is to speak forth for the Lord
rather than merely to predict. The prophetic word releases power to accomplish the purposes
of God in individual lives, in the body of Christ and in nations. According to Jeremiah 1:10, it
tears down or uproots what is not of God and builds up or plants what is. When the prophetic
word is predictive, its purpose is to prepare God's people for blessings to come, to warn
concerning coming events, to confront sin and error or to loose the power of God for forward
motion and change in individual lives, the body of Christ and in the wider culture.

The primary purposes of prophetic ministry:

Edification: to build up and strengthen
Exhortation: to stir things up and to call individuals and churches to specific and concrete
Consolation: to settle and make sense of turmoil and pain and to reveal God's divine purposes
in it in order to engender hope. We take prophetic ministry very seriously, knowing that when
we speak in the Lord's name we must be accurate and firmly grounded in both Scripture and
the Father's heart. Lives will be profoundly affected by this ministry.

Marketplace Ministries
This ministry is designed to equip business owners to become Kingdom leaders in their place of
business and to facilitate transformation in the lives of their associates, employees and those
they serve. Cathedral's Marketplace ministry will empower the business owner by teaching
them kingdom principles and connecting them with other kingdom leaders. By understanding
God's vocational call on their lives as business owners, they'll transform their businesses and
the marketplace. This ministry will open the eyes of the business owners and revea l to them
God's way of doing business. It's our goal to help every Christian discover their gifting and find
their place of ministry in the world.
